Chalet Le Frene

A winter wonderland waiting to be explored...

Les Gets is one of the oldest winter sports resorts in France and helped to pioneer traditional ski holidays. The first chair lifts were installed in 1938 and the very first Ecole du Ski Français (ski school) was established here in 1940 and continues to provide first class instruction throughout the whole of France. Unlike a lot of modern resorts, Les Gets has maintained all of its Savoyard charm and retains the relaxed atmosphere of an alpine farming village. Devoid of the sometimes overwhelming glitz and glamour that come with some of the high altitude, purpose built resorts, Les Gets is a friendly and welcoming resort where you can truly feel at home.

The local ski area is shared between Les Gets and neighboring Morzine, with over 110km of pistes to suit all abilities including extensive beginners areas, excellent children's facilities and the Milka cow who often makes an appearance bearing chocolaty treats! The area also boasts a full size terrain park, boarder cross track and extensive off piste possibilities for those hunting fresh powder lines.

If that is not enough to satisfy your snowy requirements, Les Gets is also part of the magnificent and extensive Portes du Soleil, offering 650 square kilometers of skiable terrain, taking you through 12 different resorts across both France and Switzerland. This opens up endless possibilities and is easily accessible via the Super Morzine Lift link to Avoriaz. Highlights include the Burton Stash snow park and the "Swiss Wall", a steep and challenging black run plummeting down from France into Switzerland.

To make your holiday as stress free as possible we can arrange any equipment hire and lesson requirements in advance of your arrival. Additionally, if you book your lift passes online, we will be happy to pick them up for you and have them waiting in the chalet when you arrive.

Les Gets could possibly be the easiest ski resort in the Alps to reach from the UK. Situated just over an hour away from Geneva airport by road, you can be skiing the day you land. Although we are currently unable to provide airport transfers, as changeover days are very busy, we can however arrange transfers to suit your needs with one of the various local ski transfer companies.

If you decide to drive, parking is available at the chalet. From Calais, it takes roughly 8 hours with breaks using the french auto route. Please remember that you will be required to pack snow chains if you decide to drive to us!
